Some animal sketches for warm-ups today. Page 2 was at Easton while page 3 was at Tuttle. I feel like my approach to sketches changes when I am using marker instead of pen, and I definitely like the cleaner look. Markers all the way from here on out.
The brush pen really helps give your lines more dynamic and expression, and that in turn is making your characters much more active on the page. You might try reining in your perspective, because on a few of the figures, it looks uncomfortably warped. But all in all, I think I see some good improvement!
ReplyDeleteThese are looking really nice! Your poses have really strong line of action. For a few, like the top right on the middle page, the shaping looks a big too exaggerated. But overall these look really good@
